and Test Data Reduction for Pumps

  • Achieves good preliminary designs with minimal input through ‘wizard-driven’ menu options.
  • Determines optimum pump configuration and dimensions through design variable parametric studies.
  • Predicts performance for both design point and off-design operation.

CCAD®
Detailed Design of Blading and
Flow Path for Incompressible Flow

  • Automatically provides very good initial blade shapes that achieve the component performance predicted in PUMPAL. Facilitates design improvement upon this initial design, when desired.
  • Uses an iterative approach to design and analyze pump geometries.
  • Uses fluid analysis combining specified losses with a quasi-3D inviscid flow analysis for fast results.
  • Completely integrated with other system components to produce better detailed designs: seamlessly imports PUMPAL data; interfaces with mechanical analysis and CAD/CAM software.

Pushbutton CFD®
3D Viscous Analysis of Incompressible Flow

  • CFD for pump design with a major difference: it is built right into CCAD and, with fully automatic preprocessing, CFD runs can literally be set up with one keystroke.
  • Created to support rapid design iterations: examples of three-dimensional viscous flow solutions take less than 10 minutes on a modern PC.
  • Relates geometric details of a design to fluid flow characteristics and component performance.
  • Provides tip clearance representation for unshrouded impellers.
  • Converges to user-specified flow rate or back pressure.
